Beat Sav in this weekend's Premier League Prediction Competition

Published

Can you beat Planet Sport football ambassador Robbie Savage in this weekend edition of our Premier League prediction competition?

As we approach the climax of another exciting Premier League season, there’s only a few chances left to be part of Planet Sport’s Beat Sav prediction competition, so be sure to be part of the last few rounds and get your weekend entries in before the crucial relegation clash between Luton Town and Everton kicks off at 8.00pm on Friday May 3rd.

Entry remains dead easy and completely free, and all details can be found here

A fair few entrants built a decent score last weekend, but none more so than weekly winner Amy Marsh, who managed to call four of the ten scorelines correctly, making up most of her impressive 14-point tally.

That proved way too hot for Planet Sport's football ambassador Robbie Savage, who didn’t manage a single correct score among his five correct match results, and his paltry 5-point haul that was beaten by no less than 63% of our weekend entrants.

WEEK 27 TOP SCORES

  1. 14 pts Amy Marsh (4 correct scores, + 2 match results)
  2. 13 pts entrants

Week 28 predictions

The predictions of the five teams are listed below, so if you think you can do better, then just visit the competition page to enter your own predictions.

Luton Town v Everton

  • Tipstrr: 0-2
  • Robbie: 2-1
  • Planet Sport: 1-2
  • TEAMtalk: 2-2
  • Football365: 1-2

Four straight home wins, all with clean sheets, have secured Everton’s Premier League status for another season, although their away form since Christmas (W0, D4, L6) should give hope to Luton Town, for whom a win will see them leapfrog Nottingham Forest to put pressure on their relegation rivals.

Latest Betting:

  • 12/1 Correct Score 0-2
  • 8/5 Everton win

Arsenal v Bournemouth

  • Tipstrr: 4-1
  • Robbie: 3-1
  • Planet Sport: 3-0
  • TEAMtalk: 4-2
  • Football365: 2-1

Arsenal kept their title hopes alive, despite making heavy weather of their eventual 3-2 win in last weekend’s North London derby. Bournemouth’s 3-0 win over Brighton last Sunday made it six wins out of 10 for the resurgent Cherries, but they will do well to quieten the Gunners, who have won 13 of their 15 league games in 2024, scoring 48 goals in the process.

Latest Betting:

  • 11/1 Correct Score 4-1
  • 2/11 Arsenal win

Brentford v Fulham

  • Tipstrr: 2-1
  • Robbie: 1-1
  • Planet Sport: 1-1
  • TEAMtalk: 1-2
  • Football365: 0-2

Last week’s 1-0 defeat at Everton ended Brentford’s five-game unbeaten run, but with another top-flight season already secured, the Bees look good value to get back to winning ways against a Fulham side that blows hot and cold on their travels.

Latest Betting:

  • 7/1 Correct Score 2-1
  • 21/20 xxxxxx Brentford win

Burnley v Newcastle Utd

  • Tipstrr: 1-0
  • Robbie: 2-1
  • Planet Sport: 1-2
  • TEAMtalk: 1-3
  • Football365: 1-3

Burnley continue to scrap for their Premier League lives, losing just one of their last eight games, albeit with only two wins alongside five draws, including last week’s priceless point at Old Trafford. Newcastle have won four of their last six to reignite hope of European football next season, but they have lost eight of their last 11 away games, and will find Burnley a tough nut to crack here.

Latest Betting:

  • 14/1 Correct Score 1-0
  • 23/10 Burnley win

Sheffield Utd v Nottingham Forest

  • Tipstrr: 1-2
  • Robbie: 1-2
  • Planet Sport: 1-3
  • TEAMtalk: 1-2
  • Football365: 0-2

Now Sheffield United’s relegation has been confirmed, their last three games will be seen as a rebuilding exercise ahead of their forthcoming Championship campaign, and they will have to work hard against a Nottingham Forest team that will see this as a perfect chance to put some daylight between themselves and the Premier League trapdoor.

Latest Betting:

  • 13/2 Correct Score 1-2
  • 8/13 Forest win

Manchester City v Wolves

  • Tipstrr: 3-0
  • Robbie: 3-0
  • Planet Sport: 4-0
  • TEAMtalk: 4-2
  • Football365: 3-0

Manchester City have hit full throttle in their typical end-of-season style, banging in 19 goals in 5 wins since their back-to-back draws with Liverpool and Arsenal. They will be expecting more of the same against mid-table Wolves, who ended their six-game winless run with last week’s 2-1 home victory against Luton, but clearly they face a much tougher assignment at the Etihad.

Latest Betting:

  • 21/4 Correct Score 3-0
  • 1/11 Man City win

Brighton v Aston Villa

  • Tipstrr: 1-3
  • Robbie: 0-2
  • Planet Sport: 1-3
  • TEAMtalk: 1-3
  • Football365: 1-2

Freefalling Brighton have picked up just two drawn points from their last six league games, and have conceded ten goals in their three April defeats. The Seagulls defence could face another difficult afternoon with arrival of fourth-placed Aston Villa, who have found the net at least twice in each of their last four games, and will be frustrated at having squandered a two-goal lead in last week’s home draw with Chelsea.

Latest Betting:

  • 12/1 Correct Score 1-3
  • 13/10 Villa win

Chelsea v West Ham Utd

  • Tipstrr: 4-2
  • Robbie: 2-0
  • Planet Sport: 2-0
  • TEAMtalk: 2-1
  • Football365: 2-0

Chelsea might struggle on their travels, but they have lost just one of their last ten at Stamford Bridge, where their fans have witnessed no fewer than 30 goals in the last six EPL games there (19 for, 11 against). That pattern might well continue against a West Ham side that has not kept a league clean sheet in 15 outings and were trounced 5-2 at Crystal Palace two weeks ago.

Latest Betting:

  • 22/1 Correct Score 4-2
  • 8/13 Chelsea win

Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur

  • Tipstrr: 3-1
  • Robbie: 3-1
  • Planet Sport: 2-2
  • TEAMtalk: 3-1
  • Football365: 2-2

Ten dropped points in their last five games have all but extinguished Liverpool’s title hopes, but Jurgen Klopp will certainly want to sign off his tenure by winning his last two home games. Tottenham’s 3-2 home defeat to Arsenal means their top-four ambitions are no longer in their own hands, and their tricky run-in…

Latest Betting:

  • 17/2 Correct Score 3-1
  • 40/85 Liverpool win

Crystal Palace v Manchester Utd

  • Tipstrr: 2-1
  • Robbie: 1-2
  • Planet Sport: 2-1
  • TEAMtalk: 2-1
  • Football365: 2-1

Crystal Palace are finishing their campaign with a flourish, backing up three impressive wins against Liverpool, West Ham and Newcastle with last week’s hard-earned point at Fulham. They will hope to extend that run against Manchester United, who have lost just one in seven, but have only beaten Everton and Sheffield United in that time, and showed their vulnerability again in last week’s 1-1 home draw with Burnley.

Latest Betting:

  • 8/1 Correct Score 2-1
  • 7/5 Palace win
