Beat Sav in this weekend's Premier League Prediction Competition

Published

Can you beat Planet Sport football ambassador Robbie Savage in this weekend edition of our Premier League prediction competition?

With the FA Cup again disrupting the Premier League schedule this weekend, there’s just seven games to consider for this edition of Planet Sport’s Beat Sav prediction competition, so be sure to get your entries in before the two crucial relegation battles kick off at 3.00pm on Saturday April 20.

Entry remains dead easy and completely free, and all details can be found here

Last week’s round proved to be tough for most of us, with not many calling Sunday’s away wins for Palace, Fulham and Villa at Liverpool, West Ham and Arsenal respectively.

Doing better than most was our weekly winner Magali Reb, who managed to pluck three Correct Scores out of the air on Saturday to accrue a tidy 12-point haul .

That was more than double the score of Planet Sport's football ambassador Robbie Savage, who managed to include one Correct Score himself on his way to a 5-point tally that was beaten by 39% of our weekend entrants.

WEEK 25 TOP SCORES

  1. 12 pts Megali Reb (3 correct scores, + 3 match results)
  2. 10 pts 5 entrants

  2. 153 pts Robbie Savage (21 correct scores, + 90 match results)
  3. 137 pts PlanetSport (15 correct scores, + 92 match results)

Week 26 predictions

The predictions of the five teams are listed below, so if you think you can do better, then just visit the competition page to enter your own predictions.

Luton Town vs Brentford

  • Tipstrr: 2-2
  • Robbie: 1-1
  • Planet Sport: 2-1
  • TEAMtalk: 2-3
  • Football365: 2-1

Luton clearly won’t go down without a fight, so we’re expecting them to start on the front foot here, especially as a win would see them climb above Forest and Everton (who play each other on Sunday). However, they will not have things all their own way against improving Brentford, who have boosted their own survival hopes with a four-game unbeaten run that culminated in last weekend’s 2-0 win over relegation-doomed Sheffield Utd.

Latest Betting:

  • 10/1 Correct Score 2-2
  • 13/5 Draw

Sheffield Utd vs Burnley

  • Tipstrr: 1-1
  • Robbie: 0-1
  • Planet Sport: 1-1
  • TEAMtalk: 2-1
  • Football365: 1-1

With the number of remaining games trickling away, this massive six-pointer surely represents the last-chance saloon for the bottom two clubs. Both are showing plenty of fight as they face the drop, and in what is sure to be an edgy encounter, it will be no surprise to see them scrap out a draw that will help their relegation rivals more than it will help their own respective causes.

Latest Betting:

  • 6/1 Correct Score 1-1
  • 5/2 Draw

Wolves vs Arsenal

  • Tipstrr: 2-1
  • Robbie: 0-2
  • Planet Sport: 1-3
  • TEAMtalk: 1-4
  • Football365: 1-2

After last weekend’s home defeat to Aston Villa, Arsenal’s title hopes appear to be evaporating, and this trip to Molineux could round off a miserable week that also saw them exit the Champions League at Bayern Munich. Wolves tend to raise their game for their more illustrious visitors, as they have already proved by sending Manchester City, Chelsea and Spurs home on the wrong end of 2-1 scorelines, so this is not likely to be an easy bounceback for the Gunners.

Latest Betting:

  • 20/1 Correct Score 2-1
  • 13/2 Wolves win

Everton vs Nottingham Forest

  • Tipstrr: 1-3
  • Robbie: 1-2
  • Planet Sport: 1-0
  • TEAMtalk: 1-1
  • Football365: 1-1

Evertons’s chastening 6-0 defeat at Chelsea has made this a must-win game for the two teams flirting dangerously close to the relegation trapdoor, especially if Luton manage to leapfrog them both with a positive result on Saturday. Forest have won just one of their last eight league games, but have only lost one in five, and will come out firing to hit their floundering hosts while they’re down.

Latest Betting:

  • 25/1 Correct Score 1-3
  • 12/5 Forest win

Aston Villa vs Bournemouth

  • Tipstrr: 3-0
  • Robbie: 2-1
  • Planet Sport: 2-1
  • TEAMtalk: 3-0
  • Football365: 3-1

Aston Villa will be on high after their deserved 2-0 win at Arsenal on Sunday, and with top-four rivals Spurs without a game this weekend, Unai Emery will be looking for his side to put themselves in the driving seat for fourth spot. They should not underestimate Bournemouth, who have lost just one in seven and were good value for last-week’s 2-2 draw with Manchester United, but the home side should prevail with room to spare here.

Latest Betting:

  • 14/1 Correct Score 3-0
  • 3/4 Villa win

Crystal Palace vs West Ham Utd

  • Tipstrr: 2-1
  • Robbie: 2-1
  • Planet Sport: 2-1
  • TEAMtalk: 1-1
  • Football365: 0-2

Crystal Palace surely secured their Premier League status with last week’s impressive 1-0 win at Anfield. West Ham’s 2-0 home defeat to Fulham appeared to be a hangover from their trip to Leverkusen three days earlier, and we’re anticipating a similar scenario to play out here.

Latest Betting:

  • 15/2 Correct Score 2-1
  • 6/5 Palace win

Fulham vs Liverpool

  • Tipstrr: 1-2
  • Robbie: 2-1
  • Planet Sport: 2-3
  • TEAMtalk: 1-3
  • Football365: 0-1

Liverpool’s title hopes were dealt a severe blow with last week’s shock home defeat to Palace, and they will need a quick response from that result against a Fulham team who are no pushovers these days, as they showed in last week’s tidy 2-0 win at West Ham. It’s all or nothing for the Reds, so we’re expecting them to come out firing at Craven Cottage, but not without a scare along the way from the improving Cottagers.

Latest Betting:

  • 7/1 Correct Score 1-2
  • 1/2 Liverpool win
